Milwaukee Repertory Theater is excited to offer a series of FREE acting and performance workshops for young people from October through December 2022! These workshops will give students an opportunity to learn character development, auditioning techniques, monologue performance techniques, and more.
Youth Theater Lab will take place at TBEY Arts Center every Saturday 10:30-11:30am, from October 22 to December 17 (no class November 26 to observe Thanksgiving week). These workshops will cover performance basics, with a focus on developing actor tools, stage presence, and audition skills. Students of all theatrical backgrounds and levels are encourage to apply. These workshops are open to all students aged 9 and above.
Students who are currently enrolled in high school are invited, but not required, to audition for the Next Narrative™ Monologue Competition on January 3, 2023. The Next Narrative Monologue Competition is a national program open to ALL high school students and featuring the work of contemporary Black playwrights.
